The Rivista di Filologia Cognitiva is an open-access international online journal devoted to cognitive philology, linguistics and litterature. Any published contribution is always open to adjustments and updates. Reference to contributions (mostly to the ones hosted in the «interventi» section) is eased by publication date and last update indications.
The Rivista di Filologia Cognitiva provides 7 different sections:
1) Interventi (Contributions), devoted to scientific papers on general topics as text tradition and cognitive processing, text perception, text configuration, representation, borders and limits, auditory and visul implication of text production, transmission and tradition etc...
2) Applicazioni (Studies), focused on particular applications of cognitive approaches to single or multiple textes.
3) Punti di vista (Points of view), where we host syntethic flashs on news, topics and features concerning convergence between textual, cognitive and natural sciences;
4) Letture (Readings), intended to translate and digitally re-edit classic studies related to cognitive and ecological approaches to textual tradition and literature in general.
5) Interviste (Interviews) hosting conversations with main researchers on cognitive and human sciences on textual, linguistic, philologic topics.
6) Recensioni (Reviews) where it is possible to (briefly) write about a book, a part o it, a very inspiring article or any lecture could provide some hint on researchs about cognitive textual matters.
7) Laboratorio (Lab), where we collect abstracts and panels about running research projects, we give infos about seminars, conferences and symposia and we link other sites of interest available in the world wide web.
The submission of any kind of contribution will follow the editorial review of an abstract (300-500 words) joint with 5 keywords, author's curriculum vitae and list of previous publications, that have to be sent in e-format to the editorial board.
Abstracts are accepted in italian, english, french, deutsch, spanish, but main language for notes and summaries still remain italian, as the birthplace of the journal: Rome, Italy.
This descripton of the editorial process is for the benefit of the editors and addressed to them. Authors should also look at the process to make sure they are providing what is asked for.
First, authors email an abstract to the editors-in-chief. This is to determine if the article is within the scope of the Rivista di Filologia Cognitiva.
If it is, the editor-in-chief will ask the author to email the full text. On receiving the text, the editor-in-chief will email the article out to two members of the editorial board.
- The two readers email their recommendations to the editors-in-chief.
- If both accept the article, it will be accepted.
- If both refuse it, it will be refused.
- If one refuses, the editor-in-chief will decide whether to refuse the article or to ask for a third reading.
- If any of the readers require revision before acceptance, the suggestions for revision will be sent to the author for action.
- On receiving the revised article, the editor-in-chief will re-email it to the reviewing editors.
- As before, if two refuse, the article is refused. If two accept, the article is accepted. Its abstract and other information will be placed in the online publication of the Rivista di Filologia Cognitiva. If there is no agreement, the editor-in-chief will decide or email the article for further review.
Our review process is double-blind. Editors will be sent the submitted article with no indication of the author's identity. Likewise, the author will receive no indications of the readers identity unless they give him some. If the advisers wish they review to remain anonymous, they can remove all indications disclosing they identity in the body of the message. If they wish to be known to the submitting author, they can include their name, e-address, mail address, etc., in the body of the review.
We attach below the reviewers form concerning submitted articles, so the Advisors can evaluate the criteria theyre asked to use. Authors will be notified about the criteria they should meet. A copy of this form will be mailed to the Advisors, attached to the message containing the submitted paper.
